For all of you out there who look with trepidation on the new President-elect, who fear the socialist revolt and crushing tax burden and capitulation to terror/Islam/dirty hippies that the campaign you have supported made you think was going to follow this night, please allow me to share some thoughts.
In 1980, I felt that the election of Ronald Reagan was going to destroy this nation and Nazis were going to come for us all in short order. America survived, and you would say it prospered.
In 1992, you probably felt that the election of Bill Clinton was one of the signs of the apocalypse. Commies and free love would turn us into a modern Sodom and Gomorrah. But, America survived, and I would say it prospered.
Bush II was going to put all liberals in concentration camps. John Kennedy was going to make us vassals of the Pope. FDR was going to turn us into the USSR, Junior. Teddy Roosevelt was so young and inexperienced that he would surely lead us to ruin.
Lincoln was probably the only president whose election actually did bring the nation to the brink of ruin, but I don’t think anybody’s ready to secede today.
So, take your time, mope about the loss, and then, (I’ve been waiting 8 years to say this), get over it, and move on. We have work to do.

Peace, love and understanding, man. Oh, wait - you thought I meant the site. Well, that's about a venue for original fiction, essays on life in general, humor when it can be squeezed in, and the odd podcast thrown in for fun. Nothin' much, really.
